Life comes at us pretty fast. Gotta check our phones constantly for texts, emails, updates to social media statuses, etc. #FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
Your boss needs you to stay late without any advance notice.
Your coworkers insist that you to go to happy hour cause Sheila in accounting is leaving but you don’t even know her like that.
Your mom assumes you’re going to your third cousin twice removed’s birthday party cause what will Uncle Peter say if you don’t show up!
Don’t forget about your endless to do list.
But in the midst that go go go pace, what happens to feeling connected to yourself?
When you’re grounded, you’re connected to your confidence. You believe in your ability to handle life’s curveballs.
When you’re grounded, you get knocked off your path but you tap into that deep well of inner wisdom that lives inside you to bravely admit you need help & ask for it.
When you’re grounded, you can say no to your mom asking you to do X for her when she can just as easily ask your brother (he has more time anyway).
When you’re grounded, you can say yes to having a #selfcaresunday & spend the whole day writing that chapter of your soon to be best-selling novel with your phone on “Do Not Disturb” without feeling guilty.
When you feel grounded, you know that tickle in your throat is a sign that you could be coming down with a cold so tonight you make sure to get a full 8 hours of sleep.
When you’re grounded, you don’t go on that weekend girls’ trip to cause that money is for your F&*k This Job Fund.
You’ll still get furious, sad, overwhelmed, disappointed & feel all the things. But instead of your shit keeping you stuck, you feel motivated to learn from it & move through it cause being centered is your normal.
Being uncentered just won’t do.
Imagine yourself like a tree, rooted to the earth. You still sway with life. But being connected to your core & connected to a Higher Power is your default.
